A Great Gala!
Imagining Change …
Friends of Global Health Ministries (and friends of friends!) from all over the country gathered virtually last night for a fundraising event to benefit GHM, and to celebrate the important work of our partners around the world. The program included an interview with Nobel Peace Laureate Leymah Gbowee, who shared stories of the powerful grassroots movement that helped end 14 years of civil war in her country, and community-based efforts that made a profound difference during the Ebola crisis in Liberia. Hearing a little about her work as a community health worker herself and as a community mobilizer was inspiring, and encouraging for the many community health workers around the world who are supported by GHM in their efforts to improve the health of their communities. Their work has been critical during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The evenings’s program was hosted by GHM’s Executive Director, Doug Cox, and Dan Olson, President of GHM’s Board of Directors. The event was sponsored by M Health Fairview, a partner with GHM for many years, sending donations of medical supplies that have made a tremendous difference to mission hospitals and clinics around the globe, and Pickering Energy Solutions, partnering with GHM on solar projects in Liberia, including at Phebe and Curran Hospitals.
Thanks to everyone who "said yes” to GHM and accessed the live program! The program was recorded and we invite you to check it out here. Thank you for imagining change with us - for imagining a world where everyone not only has a right to have access to a healthy life, but everyone HAS access.
