Leadership Consultant in Uganda
Do you have interest in making a difference on a global basis?
Have you always wondered how you could use your knowledge to assist others?
Current GHM Consulting Needs: GHM Consulting is looking for an individual to volunteer as a leadership consultant serving with a team to support a consultation in the Mayuge Region of Uganda. The purpose of the consultation is to assist with the enhancement of the region’s leadership and management team to improve the quality and delivery of healthcare. Magdeline Aagard, Interim Director of GHM Consulting, will be convening the consultation team. The consultation team, which will travel to Uganda, will be comprised of an individual with leadership experience, a physician from Uganda who lives in the United States, and an individual with community health experience. There is a team in Uganda who the consultation team will be working with. In addition, there will be team support in the U.S. as needed.
Expertise: This individual should have healthcare leadership experience. Having worked in a small hospital would provide more relevant experience than in a large hospital or academic center. Experience working in a developing country would be beneficial but is not required. The individual could be a hospital administrator, physician, nurse, or other health professional.
The project objectives are to:
improve region’s leadership and create an approachable team with spirit and good administration practices to improve healthcare delivery and sustainability.
This will include:
reviewing the leadership and management experience, skills, and expertise of the team,
developing leadership and management training,
improving leadership capabilities of the administration.
Time commitment:
This is a 3-year project. During the three years we anticipate 1-2 visits to Uganda each year. Zoom calls with the team will occur monthly during the first year and quarterly thereafter. Costs associated with travel would be covered by GHM.
